New Hammock For Afternoon Tea Time and Other Updates
We’ve been gone a while and there’s some big news: our site is finally working again and I bought a brand-new hammock for myself. Okay, so the hammock bit really only affects me, but the site being back is good news for everyone, I suppose. That said, the hammock is also good news for everyone. A more relaxed me is a more productive me. You might see more than a post every two years from this point on.
The main reason there hasn’t been any activity here, however, is that our site was hacked. It took over a year to get it back online and working correctly. Now that we are finally back, we want to make the best of it and get a lot more posts written. So look for that.
We will try to focus more on healthy food, which was the original purpose for this website. Along with that, will focus a lot on growing your own food indoors, since the best way to ensure your food is healthy is to grow it yourself. We grow indoors under grow lights, because that allows even those of us who do not have a garden or who live in cold climates to grow year-round.
I’ll also share more of my personal life, especially as it affects my work life. Getting a hammock is one of those things. I work best when I am relaxed and nothing is more relaxing than a hammock. I hang it mostly indoors by a large window, so that I can sway gently in the hammock and look out over my yard. On warm days, I often take it outside and hang it on my back porch. I’ve also occasionally taken it to a park or to the beach and tried to hang it up there.
I try to spend 30 minutes a day in my hammock, at the very least. I like taking a quick power nap in it, because that allows me to refocus and get back to being productive. Sometimes I’ll also lie in it longer and just think. I do my best brainstorming when I’m gently swaying in the breeze.
I know people are going to ask, so I will just say that the type of hammock I bought was a parachute hammock. I considered a Mayan hammock, but decided against it, since they are more expensive and they are heavier. I wanted to be able to take my hammock with me if I went to the beach or the park or anywhere else like that, so I opted for the parachute hammock. It is also a lot cheaper, which definitely factored into my decision.
Another thing I just started doing and want to do a lot more of is to have my afternoon tea in my hammock. As some of you know, I’ve already been toying with the idea of growing my own tea in my indoor garden underneath my LED grow lights. I’ve not yet started this, but it is something I’ve been researching heavily and will probably do soon.
Until then I will continue to buy my tea from stores online so that I always have good quality tea available. My afternoon cup of tea is very important to me and is another thing that helps boost my productivity. Because of that, I thought combining it with my hammock might have double the effect.
So far it has been true. Lying in my hammock with a cup of tea in my hand, slowly sipping on it while I brainstorm away is now my favorite way to spend the afternoon. And when I get out of the hammock after having that tea, I can always sit down at my computer and just type away for an hour or two straight.
That kind of productivity is hard to come by and if it continues on like this, that drinking a cup of tea in my hammock in the afternoon gives me this kind of productive time, then I will certainly continue doing this. Hammock time and teatime combined will be my new afternoon break.
